High-level changes in Punjab bureaucracy

LAHORE: The Punjab government on Thursday transferred and posted 16 officials of the province’s civil bureaucracy and police.
Punjab Governor’s media adviser Farrukh Shah was appointed media consultant to the department of Information, Culture and Youth Affairs. He would also hold the additional charge of the Director General Public Relations (DGPR).
OSD Taimur Azmat Osman was posted as the Punjab additional chief secretary. OSD Haji Habibur Rehman was appointed the Lahore capital city police officer (CCPO). Elite Forces DIG Amjad Javed Saleemi was appointed Lahore operations DIG.
Vehari district coordination officer Khurram Agha was appointed the Implementation and Coordination additional secretary. PMU Agriculture sector project director Tariq Najeeb Najmi was appointed the coordination secretary at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. OSD Sohail Ahmad was appointed Planning and Development Board Chairman. Additional Inspector General of Police (AIG) Telecommunication Muhammad Waseem was posted as Punjab Traffic AIG. OSD Mirza Muhammad Yasin was posted as Punjab Special Branch AIG. Inspection Deputy IG Ahsan Mehboob was posted as the Gujranwala regional police officer. Punjab Traffic DIG Tariq Khokhar was posted as Gujranwala city police officer (CPO). OSD Inayatullah Farooqui was transferred as Rawalpindi CPO. Dr Ajmal Khan, who was the coordination secretary at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, was made officer on special duty (OSD).
The services of former chief secretary Javed Mehmood and inspector general of police Shaukat Javed have been placed at the disposal of the establishment division. The Services and General Administration Department additional secretary was also made OSD. The Punjab government also made S&GAD secretary Jalal Sikandar Sultan and his brother, Attock DPO Wisal Fakhar Sultan Raja as OSDs. They were directed to report to the federal government.
